Young Persons Support 11-18

Support for Young People in East Staffordshire and South Derbyshire

Our Young People’s Team provides specialist, trauma-informed support for young people aged 11 and over who have been affected by sexual or domestic abuse.

We work alongside young people in schools, colleges and community settings, creating a safe, supportive space where they can talk, ask questions, understand their experiences and explore ways to move forward.

Our support is centred around the young person. We recognise that everyone responds differently to difficult experiences, so we work at their pace and focus on what feels safe and helpful for them. Support may include one-to-one emotional support, building confidence and self-esteem, understanding emotions and relationships, developing coping strategies, and exploring healthy boundaries and consent.

Alongside individual support, our Young People’s Team works alongside our community teams to help raise awareness around sexual and domestic abuse. We provide age-appropriate education around topics such as consent, healthy relationships, boundaries, online safety and recognising harmful behaviours, helping young people to make informed choices and know where they can turn for support.

Our aim is to ensure that young people feel heard, respected and empowered — whether they are seeking support for something that has happened to them, worried about someone else, or simply want to better understand relationships, boundaries and staying safe.
